The “esPro BULATS” test is developed by Universidad de Salamanca, to ensure the standard of the proposition and the evaluation.

The test is available in  Spanish. Each test consists of four sections: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It comes in two formats: paper-based and computer-based.

esPro BULATS is designed to assess learners’ communication skills in real-life situations, with a special focus on working and business contexts. To serve as an effective assessment to evaluate learners’ language proficiency, the test includes both multiple-choice and open-end items. The computer-based tests are individualized adaptive exams, which take 110 minutes. Scores are shown on the screen by the end of the session, and participants receive an official transcript immediately.

esPro BULATS is aligned with international standards and accepted globally.

esPro BULATS tests are aligned with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) framework and the language proficiency benchmark established by ALTE. The scores range from 0 to 100. The learners’ proficiency is categorized in one of the five levels based the scores obtained. Each level provides a clear index explaining learners’ communication skills and what kind of job they are able to execute in a foreign language.

To help students reach the department’s language requirements for graduation, “BULATS” has been opted as one of the language assessments. The graduation language test threshold for 2-year college is B2, and B1 for 4-year college and 5-year junior college (including Spanish minors).
